TOGETHER WE CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE FOR OUR VETERANS

In 1970 when I returned to the states as a Vietnam combat veteran, my reception was much different from today's veterans. It is gratifying to see that the American public has learned to distinguish between supporting our military and world policy decisions.

I have been fortunate to have had a long and rewarding career in the cruise travel business. As I near the end point of my career, I have been searching for a veteran's organization to support that is rated A+ for using the majority of funds collected for direct contribution to its core recipients. For me, that organization is Fisher House (www.FisherHouse.org). Here are a few key facts:

  • Fisher House builds houses adjacent to VA Medical Centers and Hospitals
  • Families of active and retired military can stay there at no charge while their loved ones are undergoing extended treatment (think Ronald McDonald House for veterans).
  • Veteran's families must pay for all housing expenses out of their own pockets unless there is a Fisher House facility near the hospital.

To raise funds for this excellent and worthy cause, I have founded Voyages for Veterans. You can support this effort and it won't cost you a thing. My company will make a direct donation to Fisher House for each person who subscribes to our CruiseFlash newsletter. The newsletter is free and you can opt out at any time. To subscribe, click here or on the bottom button. If you would like to see a sample of our newsletter, it can be viewed on our corporate web site at www.CruiseJungle.com

Later this year, we will announce a series of cruises that can be purchased from our advertisers that include a contribution from them or the cruise line to Fisher House. Our goal is to create ways to contribute that don't cost you out of pocket funds by leveraging transactions that are already taking place. Over 11 million people cruise every year and that, of itself, represents an awesome amount of contribution revenue. We will NEVER ask you for a direct contribution however you may do so by going to the Fisher House web site.

We look forward to welcoming you to Voyages for Veterans and as a supporter of Fisher House.

Sincerely,
Joe Ewart, CEO
